This Year’s Theme: Safe and Healthy Work in the Digital Age

The 2024 European Week for Safety and Health at Work is part of the broader EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2023-2025, which focuses on “Safe and Healthy Work in the Digital Age.” As a company at the forefront of automation technology, we recognise the importance of addressing the challenges and opportunities that digitalisation brings to workplace safety and health.

Our Commitment to Employee Engagement and Continual Improvement

To mark this week and reinforce our commitment to a safe and healthy workplace, we’re organising an event for our employees:

  • Daily Online Quiz: Throughout the week, we’ll be running a daily online quiz based around the theme of safety and health in the digital workplace.
  • Learning Opportunity: This quiz is designed not just as a fun activity, but as an educational tool to increase awareness about the impact of digitalisation on workplace safety and health.
  • Prizes for Participants: To encourage participation and show our appreciation for our employees’ engagement, we’ll be selecting five winners on the final day of the week to receive special spot prizes.

Our participation in this initiative aligns with our company goals for continual improvement. We are proud to announce that we are working towards achieving ISO 45001:2018 certification, a globally recognised standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Benefits of ISO 45001

Why Is ISO 45001:2018 Certification Important?

Achieving ISO 45001:2018 certification will show our commitment to creating a safe and supportive work environment. This certification will provide our staff with the assurance that their workplace prioritises occupational health and safety, creating a secure environment for their well-being.

The key benefits of ISO 45001 for us as a company include:

  1. Improved safety performance: The standard provides a framework for identifying and assessing occupational health and safety risks, to further improve our overall safety performance.
  2. Legal compliance: It helps us stay compliant with relevant health and safety regulations.
  3. Employee well-being: By addressing health and safety concerns, we create a safer and healthier working environment.
  4. Reduced workplace incidents: The proactive approach encouraged by ISO 45001 leads to a reduction in workplace incidents and improving productivity.
  5. Enhanced reputation: Certification demonstrates our commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace, positively impacting our reputation among stakeholders.
  6. Cost savings: While there may be initial implementation costs, the long-term benefits often outweigh them through reductions in accidents, illnesses, and downtime.
  7. Global recognition: ISO 45001 is internationally recognised, enhancing our credibility and facilitating global business activities.
  8. Continuous improvement: The standard promotes ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and updating of our occupational health and safety management system, helping us stay proactive in risk management.

Why This Matters To DesignPro?

As we continue to embrace digital technologies in our work processes, it’s important that we also address the new challenges they present. This includes considering ergonomic issues related to increased screen time, the importance of cybersecurity in protecting our digital workspaces, and the potential impacts of AI and automation on job roles and stress levels.

By taking part in the European Week for Safety and Health at Work and pursuing ISO 45001:2018 certification, we’re showing our commitment to:

  1. Staying informed about the latest developments in workplace safety and health
  2. Fostering a culture of safety awareness among our employees
  3. Continuously improving our workplace to ensure it remains safe, healthy, and productive in the face of ongoing digital transformation
