Electrician

The successful candidate will hold an electrical qualification (Level 6 Trade Qualification) with a minimum of 5+ years post-qualification experience in industrial electrical/automation systems.

Electrical panel building experience required including interpretation of electrical schematics and IO lists. Knowledge of safety systems, electronics, PLC’s, industrial networks, vision systems and robotics a distinct advantage.

Knowledge of SolidWorks Electrical or other electrical design packages as well as testing and inspection certification, an advantage.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team in a busy environment and will be exposed to the most up to date technologies and systems.  A high level of initiative and adaptability is required with flexibility to travel to customer sites.

• Wire, build, and install electrical control panels/systems for allocated
• Plan, organise and manage workload to ensure all electrical activities meet the client specification.
• Ensure all allocated jobs are completed within the agreed timeframe/allocated hours, and machines are released on time, ensuring the Department Manager is kept up to date regarding the status of work, highlighting any concerns/issues that may cause delays.
• Liaise with Operations Manager and Engineering Manager as required regarding timing of jobs/release of machines to the electrical team to ensure deadlines are met.
• Work with and have excellent knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, medium and low voltage switchgear, electrical metering, control, and protection systems.
• Routine checking of all types of electrical systems, including fault finding and repair.
• Responsible for the testing and sign-off of assigned machines, ensuring all work meets the required up-to-date electrical standards.
• Ensure full and up-to-date knowledge of project requirements from the electrical perspective, also giving input as required.

• Assist the assembly technicians as required in relation to electrical works.
• Responsible for training, mentoring, and allocating work when apprentices are in place and report on progress to the Department Manager.
• Ensure close communication with Department Manager and Project  Team and attend meetings as required.
• Develop in-depth electrical knowledge to meet the requirements of technology advancement, keeping up-to-date with electrical standards.
• Actively engage with the Performance Management App and insert updates/comments on an ongoing basis. Review of performance between Manager and Employee must be carried out on a quarterly basis, and the App must be updated accordingly.
• Ensure all duties are carried out adhering to health and safety policy.
• Complete records in accordance with the Quality Management System and follow procedures.
